In the film environment »Way Way Out« you are a part of the picture. You are standing between three projection screens. At the beginning of the film sequence, the projections of the floor, the ceiling, and the front correspond with their »natural« positions (a meadow on the floor, clouds on the ceiling, a tree in front). Soon the images begin to shift, the positions change and thus confuse the visitors’ orientation within the space. You are standing on clouds, a river flows vertically in front of you, a meadow floats above you. Your surroundings become more and more abstract. Words such as meadow, marble, wood, and water wander across the screen in a typeface that is reminiscent of the material texture of the substances designated. At the end, the projections are colored red, green, and blue, matching the color model of the monitors, once as text, once as colored plane. You are looking for a way out of the prison of space and time.
