Biography
Educated as a chemist, Joan Shogren was a pioneer in the field of computer art. In 1963, with the help of programmers from San José State University's chemistry department, she realized a series of paintings that she exhibited at the Spartan Bookstore in May of the same year. She later collaborated in the development of the very first computer clip art, which was released in 1984 under the name ClickArt for Macintosh computers.
