The video- and audioinstallation REFLECTION OF THE PROJECTION – A Space for Contemplation was created by Didi Müller for the PhonoLux Maschine, a presentation platform for media art projects in the foyer of the Kinemathek Karlsruhe. Where movie poster painters used to place their large billboards, Müller’s work now invites to contemplate. The projected image shows various static and moving sequences of images that form a compilation of cycles determined by nature and humans. The original images have been uncoupled from their soundtrack and reconnected in new and poetic ways. Caught between active and passive reflection, a person is contemplating the cycle of nature and the inner thoughts about their own art in the images. Art serves him as an object of contemplation for his spiritual immersion, through which they express their being and feelings about the world. The buzzing of insects wanders dynamically around the room, from loudspeaker to loudspeaker. With its images of golden days in late summer, Didi Müller’s work is an ode to the slow life of nature.

Supported by the UNESCO City of Media Arts Karlsruhe 2020 project support program for media art.
