Jules LaPlace

Biography

Jules LaPlace is a musician and programmer living in Berlin. They built a neural video system for Hito Steyerl, which she used to peer 0.03 seconds into the future in »Power Plants / This Is The Future«. They coaxed a neural vocalist to sing like a swarm of bees on »Godmother« with Holly Herndon and Jlin. The Yale Precision Marching Band performed their sonifications of American gun violence for Steyerl's »Drill«.

Their collaboration with Adam Harvey on Exposing.ai led to the takedown of several facial recognition datasets, and they also contribute to VFRAME, which develops computer vision for open source investigations. Additionally, Jules plays synthesizers in the horror disco group Pavone Cristallo
