Senta Hirscheider

Biography

Senta Hirscheider (1988) is an artist, scenographer, and radio producer with a background in law. Drawing on artistic research, she develops large-scale installations, performances, and interventions. Her work is characterized by collective and collaborative processes, which have shaped her artistic career from the very beginning and continue to do so. She is currently exploring questions of sound, memory, and the interplay between archival research and contemporary art.

For Antennae: Frequencies from the Archive (ZKM, 2024), she researched the collaboration between Suzanne Ciani and Harald Bode and presented the performance A Love Letter to Collaboration as part of Reconstructing Harald Bode. A Synth Lovers Festival (ZKM, HfM Karlsruhe, 2025). She was part of the curatorial team for man liest wieder rot (ZKM, 2024). She co-curated the exhibition extractive zones (Chemnitz, November 2025).

Her current project, Exercises for a Shared Ear, based on extensive research in the sound archive (Humboldt Forum, Berlin), was presented at Fleeting Voices. Preserving Acoustic Heritage in the Archives and the Arts (Vienna, October 2025) as well as at DESACTA (SAVVY Contemporary, Berlin, Nov 2025–Jan 2026).
