Helin Ulas
Biography
Helin Ulas is a visual artist and designer. Her work explores the intersection of technology, real-time media environments, and performance art. Using new media tools, she constructs performance pieces and video installations that challenge traditional audience engagement. Ulas researches socio-political changes and their effects on communities and ecologies, examining how technology shapes culture and collective ecological memory. Her research speculates alternate machines and speculations on non-linear perspectives on ecologies. Her work questions conventional audience engagement, creating community-building and knowledge-sharing platforms.
As an artistic researcher and educator at HfG Karlsruhe, she teaches real-time media creation and visual programming.
