Biography

Tabea Wolf is artist and designer based in Paris, with projects and exhibitions across France and Germany. After a vocational training as a metalsmith at Zeichenakademie Hanau, with a focus on industrial and traditional craft techniques, she studied product design at the Brüder-Grimm Berufsakademie Hanau and at the Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design.

She has been working as a metalworker alongside her studies to this day. Through various collaborations, she has gained experience in artistic practices, which have significantly influenced her work on both a material and conceptual level. Her design approach is based on a deep engagement with materials, both phenomenologically and structurally, as well as on a critical reflection of assumptions and patterns of perception. In her thesis, she explores the material and semantic complexity of steel through industrially shaped pipes.
