Johanna Lohrer

Biography

Facilitator, philosopher, and program designer. She works at the intersection of event management and transformational intervention: her facilitation sessions are carefully crafted spaces where atmosphere, structure, and the quality of interaction come together to reveal new possibilities. She supports government agencies, local authorities, and civil society organizations in organizing conferences, public dialogues, and strategic planning processes. During her studies in philosophy in Stuttgart, Essex, Copenhagen, and Freiburg, she specialized in democratic decision-making theory and applied ethics. For her, just governance structures are determined right from the start, when the conditions are being negotiated: Who sits at the table, and in what capacity? Is there equality among the negotiators through a dialogue on equal footing, or what governs the negotiation process? How do we want to live together and organize ourselves? The Mars Experiment is a brilliant opportunity to ask these questions from the ground up.
