Günter Scharein

Günter Scharein (*1949, Bassum, DE) lives and works in Berlin, DE. He studied at the art schools in Hamburg, DE, in Saarbrücken, DE, and at Berlin University of the Arts. His practice is rooted in color field painting. Through his work, he creates worlds of color and sound in which color can be experienced as an autonomous force. His precise application of paint and subtle compositional principles give rise to immersive spaces that evoke a meditative depth and an intense emotional resonance.
