»SynSeeThis« is an app for iOS, which was created for the music performance »The Origin of Noise – The Noise of the Origin« by Peter Weibel for the Donaufestival [Danube festival] 2013 in Krems, Austria. The app is a visual musical instrument, which generates a feedback loop of images and sound.For the installation, an iPad is fixed to a mount. When a page of the book lying in the installation is placed in the visual range of the iPad’s built-in camera, the recorded image is transformed into sounds. The pages of the book exhibit various visual patterns, which all generate specific sounds.
