- Ángel Duarte studied at the Escuela de Artes y Oficios, Madrid (1945–1948). He lived in Paris (1954–1968) where he attended the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts. 1957–1962 founding member of Equipo 57. 1963 founding member of Association valaisanne des artistes. 1967 founding member of group Y, Sion, which disbanded in 1970. 1987 co-founder of Ferme-Asile, a cultural institution in Sion.
