Ewe Benbenek

Ewe Benbenek studied cultural and political sciences at the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder) and at University College London, as well as literature at the University of Erfurt. From 2014 to 2019, she was a research assistant at the Chair of Modern German Literature/Theatre Research at the University of Hamburg. In 2019, she was nominated for the Retzhofer Dramapreis. Her play text »Tragödienbastard« was funded as part of uniT's working studio at Schauspielhaus Wien and premiered at Schauspielhaus Wien on October 30. In 2021 she won the Mühlheimer Dramatikpreis for »Tragödienbastard« and in the same year she was voted young playwright of the year in the Theater heute critics' poll.
