Biography
Victor Vasarely (Vásárhelyi Győző) studied medicine at the University of Budapest (1925–1927), painting at the Podolini-Volkmann Academy in Budapest (1927), and at the Mühely, an art school comparable to the Bauhaus, Budapest (1928/1929). 1930 moved to Paris where he worked as a graphic designer until 1944. 1955 initiated the exhibition »Le Mouvement« at the Galerie Denise René, Paris.
