Ingrid Scheurmann

Biography
Ingrid Scheurmann was adjunct professor for heritage science and applied historical building research at Dresden University of Technology (DE) and head of the MA program Preservation of Historic Monuments and Urban Development (2008–2012). From 2009 to 2012 she was director of »Zwischen Historie und Historisierung: Theoriediskurse der Denkmalpflege«, a subproject of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research project »Heritage – Values – Dialogue«. In 2005, she curated the exhibition »ZeitSchichten: Erkennen und Erhalten. Denkmalpflege in Deutschland« in Dresden Castle. Since 1995, Scheurmann has worked at the German Foundation for Monument Protection in the area of heritage education. She is a board member of the Landesdenkmalbeirat in Brandenburg, the Arbeitskreis Theorie und Lehre der Denkmalpflege e.V. of the Deutsche Nationalkomitee für Denkmalschutz, and ICOMOS. She has published widely on the history and theory of cultural heritage preservation.
