Jörg Kotthaus
Biography
Prof. Jörg P. Kotthaus is a professor of Experimental Physics at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität Munich. He studied physics at the Technical University Munich, received his PhD 1972 at the University of California, Santa Barbara. From 1973 on he worked as scientific assistant at the physics department of the Technical University Munich, in 1978 he was appointed Professor of Applied Physics (chair) at the University Hamburg. In 1989 he accepted the chair at the LMU Munich. He was elected a Fellow of the American Physical Society in 1989 and received the 1991 Gentner-Kastler-Prize of the French and the German Physical Societies for his work.
