Karin de Wild
Biography
Karin de Wild is an art historian and curator, who is currently Assistant Professor in Contemporary Museum and Collection Studies at Leiden University in the Netherlands. She holds a PhD from the University of Dundee titledInternet Art and Agency and was a Digital Fellow at the School of Museum Studies, University of Leicester. She has published extensively on museums, digital arts and cultures. Recent publications include Museums on the Web (Routledge, 2025), edited with Nadezhda Povroznik, and Museums and Digital Confidence (Routledge, 2025), edited with Ross Parry and Vince Dziekan. Together with Peter Verhaar, she is co-investigator of the research project Digital Heritage Education (NRO Comenius Senior grant, 2024–2026). She curated several exhibitions with artist duo JODI and acquired works by, among others, László Moholy-Nagy. As both a researcher and curator, she has collaborated with a wide range of museums, including SFMoMA (US), the Victoria and Albert Museum (UK), and Het Nieuwe Instituut (NL).
