Biography

Lan Linh Merli-Nguyen Hoai is a post-graduate fellow in time-based media conservation at the Düsseldorf Conservation Center. Over the last 1.5 years, she has been integral to launching the Center's new department of time-based media conservation; she supported the establishment of a media lab and develops practices and worksflows for the acquisition, documentation and preservation of the time-based media collections in the Center's care. In 2020, she earned an M.A. in Moving Image Archiving and Preservation at NYU Tisch School of Arts in New York City. She completed her graduate internships at The House Foundation of Meredith Monk, at Dara Birnbaums archive, and at the New Museum Digital Archive, where she focused on the digitization of analog videotapes and the preservation of born-digital objects.
