Matthieu Vlaminck is a recent graduate of the National Diploma of Visual Arts at the Ecole Supérieure d'Art d'Avignon. He also holds a diploma in programming/network – which helped him developing a video game –  and in music (cello).

He acquired the skills of using 2-D and 3-D software while he was still in high school and has always been fascinated by information technology and digital archaeology.

His current specialization is the preservation and restoration of 3-D computer-generated cinema models. An example of his work is the remastering/retexturing of the USS Titan for the cover of David Mack's book »Star Trek: Titan – Fortune of War«.

As an Archivist in Residence, Matthieu’s research focuses on the preservation of digital art, notably on commercial products as part of artworks (maintenance/adaptation of historical and obsolete commercial software/API for the sake of art preservation), and the archiving of artworks using 3-D visualization.
