Biography
Yoshiyuki Abe studied Photographic Engineering at Chiba University, Japan. From 1972 to 1982 he worked as an assistant director for various feature films and produced his own short films. In 1981 he turned to the production of images and movies by using digital computer technology. His work has won him numerous awards, including the Prix Ars Electronica, Eurographics, and Pixxelpoint. Since 2003, among others he carried out research on the early years of computer-generated art.
