Special collections of the library

The library of the ZKM and the HfG | Staatliche Hochschule für Gestaltung holds numerous book collections by scientists and artists.

Through the ZKM's involvement with the history of the electronic arts and the associated collaboration with its representatives, special book collections come into the library's possession – often together with other documents such as correspondence or photographic material that are in the ZKM archive.

These special holdings include, for example, the estate library of Max Bense and Elisabeth Walther-Bense, the Futurism library of Ingo Bartsch, partial holdings of the Adam Seide Library, and others.
