Ulrike Rosenbach: „My little daughter sits on my lap. Accompanied by the musical sounds of breathing, I tie us together with transparent gauze bandages. We are in any case inseparably joined.“ In this performance Ulrike Rosenbach joins her reflections about her relation to her daughter with her artistic work.
Ulrike Rosenbach
*1943 in Bad Salzdetfurth near Hildesheim, studied sculpture at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf from 1964—1970, masterstudent under Joseph Beuys. First video works, performances and art actions in 1971. 1975/1976 lecturer for feminist art and media art at the California Institute of the Arts in Valencia, CA. Collaborated with Klaus vom Bruch and Marcel Odenbach in founding the producers’ group ATV (Alternative TV). Participation in documenta 6 in 1977 and in documenta 8 in 1987. From 1989, professorship for new artistic media at the Hochschule der Bildenden Künste Saar, Saarbrücken, where she was vice-chancellor from 1990—1993. Lives in Roderath/Nettersheim.
