Alicja Patanowska

Alicja Patanowska (*1983, Starograd Gdański, PL) lives and works in Poznań, Poland. She studied at the Royal College of Art in London, GB, and received her Ph.D. at the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław, PL. Patanowska’s practice is grounded in slow, direct contact with material, most often clay, and in the conviction that some things can be understood only through the body — where language does not reach. Through sculpture and installation, she builds situations in which knowledge emerges through physical encounter: touch, movement, listening.
