Elda Cerrato
Biography
Elda Cerrato (1930, Asti, IT –2023, Buenos Aires, AR) lived and worked in Buenos Aires and temporarily in Caracas, VE. After studying pharmacy and biochemistry at the University of Buenos Aires, she taught there for decades, among others at the faculties of architecture and art. Cerrato combined geometric structures and organic morphologies with experimental color concepts. Investigations into identity and belonging, as well as metaphysical and cosmological orders, lie at the heart of her work. Her oeuvre encompasses painting, drawing, installation and theoretical writings.
