KAMUNA 2010

12th Karlsruhe Museum Night: KAMUNA brings color into the night

Sat, August 07, 2010 6:00 pm – Sun, August 08, 2010 1:00 am CEST

The ZKM brings color to the KAMUNA-night. Already in the forecourt, visitors can illuminate the neon letters in the subspace of the ZKM_Cube with their cell phones, and broadcast their messages there. In addition, media artist Boris Petrovsky will guide guests personally through his work. The color and light play continues in the ZKM_Foyer where everyone has the opportunity to interactively design a huge light wall with CHROMA_PAINT by rosalie and Jens Barth. The "Wetterstation 2030" [Weather Station 2030] gives opportunity to forecast the weather for the year 2030. Within this set-up by the artist Gabriele Sturm the visitor alias weather person will be filmed, and the film will become part of the installation. . Other things to try out can be found at Henry’s Dreirad Zirkus [Henry’s Three Wheel Circus Play Area] on the ZKM_Forecourt. Young children are invited to participate in the workshop "Colors of darkness—painting with fluorescent colors". Teens and adults have the opportunity to design their own video portrait—based on Robert Wilson’s works. An initial highlight is offered by the film screening of the third part of the multimedia music theater "Amazonas," which premiered this spring at the Munich Biennale. Another colorful highlight will be the performance of the London light jugglers "feeding the fish" in the ZKM_Media Theater. The entire evening, the light installation "dandelion" by the Karlsruhe artist duo Kehres & Hungerer will illuminate the main entrance of the ZKM on Brauerstraße. Like every year, the ZKM | Museum Communication offers guided tours through all of the exhibitions and as a classic event, a museum rally called "Finding & discovering". Refreshments on the journey through the night are available at the ZetKaeM Restaurant/Café in the ZKM_Foyer.
