ATOLL Festival at ZKM – Moritz Grenz & Clara Cortes »Hedonia«

Clara Cortés and Moritz Grenz promise a new digital tech circus as a dialog between the analog and digital body. It is not only the physical presence of the two performers that is important, but also the images captured by a camera and processed by AI, which are generated behind the stage on a full-surface screen. 

Eight by two meters of green artificial turf, behind which a landscape stretches out on a large canvas. Two people lie on the grass: "It's a perfect day." Yoga in the meadow, the smell of the forest, a bird emerging from a hologram. Two bodies balancing and floating, techno, sexuality, the dog upside down and the happy cat. A futuristic rap concert, a dystopia, a rift, cold and pleasure, cables, wireless connections, microphones and cameras. Combining contemporary circus, technology, video art, rap and sound design, "Hedonia" promises an experience for all the senses. The one-hour performance stages a dialog between the analog and digital body. Hedonia mixes music, song, scent, video, acting, dance and acrobatics. Clara Cortés and Moritz Grenz promise a new digital tech circus. Just as important as the physical presence of the two performers are the images captured by a camera and processed by AI, which are generated on a full-surface screen behind the artificial turf surface that marks the stage for Cortés and Grenz.
