- Description
“ADA Avant-Garde Actions” was the name of an initiative group that came together in 1973 at the Neuer Berliner Kunstverein to organize an event of experimental art at short notice for the 1973 Berliner Festwochen. ADA was based on the idea of overcoming traditional forms of exhibition. ADA was not to be conceived by 'doers', but by artists. ADA was not intended to be a fixed entity that would be presented to the public on the opening day, ready and unchanged for four or five weeks.” (Jörn Merkert, Ursula Prinz)
The artist Wolf Vostell participated in the first edition of the ADA event series with his environment “Auto-Fieber” and the happening “Berlinfieber”.
Ulrike Ottinger documented both. The result was the film “Berlinfieber – Wolf Vostell”, a happening documentary by Ulrike Ottinger.
