Description

In the installation, visitors are confronted with his own mirrored projections. These projections enter into a dialogue with the pre-recorded images and voices of a woman (Viviane de Muynck) and a man (Hermen Maat). This dialogue reflects on one's own self-image and is based on the story of Echo and Narcissus. The image, multiplied by mirrors, live and semi-live video projections, alienates the visitor from his self-perception. When the (projected) visitor meets the (projected) actress, they are confronted with their own fixation on control: Who am I? Who am I encountering? How am I being influenced or manipulated? What external image can I relate to?
