ZKM | Karlsruhe has been setting worldwide standards in producing artistic and academically outstanding interactive, participative and performative exhibitions and accompanying publications with international appeal since 1989.

The latest developments in art and society have been presented in all forms of media and processes from oil paintings to apps over a roughly 15,000 m2 exhibition area in changing themed and monographic exhibitions since 1997.

Together with ZKM’s Research department, laboratories and other departments as well as partner institutions and research institutes worldwide, the curatorial department develops the varied exhibition program at ZKM in close cooperation with the artistic, academic board and an international network of guest artists, academics and curators.

The curatorial department is also involved in several international cooperation projects that make ZKM’s exhibition content accessible to a global audience.
