Tribute to Agnès Varda
Retrospective of the ZKM | Film Institute
Fri, July 01, 2005 – Sun, July 03, 2005, Film Screening
This year’s retrospective is devoted to one of the key figures in modern cinema. In the course of her over 1950-year career Agnès Varda has provided the Nouvelle Vague with fresh stimulus and been instrumental in promoting the art of documentary film. Her alert critical mind has made her one of the most astute observers of contemporary cinema. As such, she was appointed along with director, Emir Kusturica, and Nobel Prize Laureate in Literature, Toni Morrison, to the jury of this year’s International Film Festival in Cannes. We are delighted to be able to welcome Agnès Varda on Sunday, July 1, in Karlsruhe.
