DanceFormsD
Performance Lecture at the ZKM | Museum of Contemporary Art, Resonanting Space, 7 p.m.
In collaboration with the sociologist Gabriele Klein (University of Hamburg), the curator Christine Peters (Frankfurt), and the choreographers Martin Nachbar (Berlin), the artist twins ”deufert+plischke” (Hamburg) – who have meanwhile taken up one of the most important positions in contemporary European choreography – have organized a workshop to examine the subject of dance as an art form for national identity in Germany. Against the background of the exhibition ”Vertrautes Terrain” the artists and theorists together formulate answers that will be presented as a public performance lecture.

Robert Darroll, Sean Reed: "Oracle" (2005–07)
PanoramaScreen at the ZKM_Media Theater, 6 p.m.–1 a.m.
One of the focal points of the research and development work of the ZKM | Institute for Visual Media are the immersive projection environments for artistic projects. On the occasion of KAMUNA, the institute will present its ”Panorama Technology” for cylindrical 360° projections, which will allow visitors to immerse themselves in new worlds.
With their work "Oracle," media artist Robert Darroll and composer Sean Reed subject the construction of (subjective) reality to scrutiny. By means of a touchscreen visitors may consult an ‘Oracle’. Here, the work draws on randomly guided forms of ritual search for meaning and, as analogy, uses a databank with various animated films and soundfiles, from which various sequences of answers are compiled according to aleatoric principles. Thus, with each interview there results a new mosaic of questions and answers.

The ZKM | Institute for Music and Acoustics will show performances (video) and light installations in the Sound Dome. With the aid of 40 loudspeaker instruments, complex space-sound movements can be experienced.
