art Night KARLSRUHE
Sat, March 12, 2011 , Festival
As part of art Night KARLSRUHE the ZKM | Museum of Contemporary Art and the ZKM | Media Museum will be open until 12 o’clock midnight on Saturday, 12 March. Karlsruhe art institutes will be opening their doors for the duration of art KARLSRUHE and be welcoming nocturnal visitors for the first time. On this Saturday, the new museums, BBK, GEDOK, the UND platform for art initiatives and new galleries will be showing their exhibitions and art treasures.
From 10 p.m. onwards, the MAXBAR in PrinzMaxPalais (Akademiestraße 38a, 76133 Karlsruhe) will be welcoming guests to an AFTER-ART-PARTY. One may fade out with the evening to the sounds of Nu-Jazz, House and more performed on two floors.

The eighth art KARLSRUHE takes place from 10-13 March. As every spring, the art fair attracts visitors with a wide variety of high-quality classic modern and contemporary paintings, sculptures and photography. The ZKM has a booth at hall 1 devoted to innovations in new media technology: in addition to e-books and the ZKM videocast, the newly developed and recently available Apps are also presented. Matthias Gommel’s interactive sound installation "12 Movies" invites the visitor to listen with his own body, thus providing an impression of the exhibition IMAGINING MEDIA@ZKM, on show until 8 May.
