EN-KNAP: Octet
Tempel Tanzfestivals 2012
Fri, November 16, 2012 8.30 pm CET, Performance
En-Knap is Slovenia’s only professional ensemble for contemporary dance. Working together with the company under the artistic direction of Iztok Kovač are exceptional dancers and internationally honored choreographers, such as Simone Sandroni from the Deja Donne company, Italy.
The new piece “Octet” is an interactive, intermedial stage piece in which the stage setting is combined with video projections, live vj-ing, mapping, and light design. The piece deals with society’s relationship to the reigning post-modern cult of the individual, and in doing so touches on the core of twenty-first century cultural and political life.
The audience has the possiblity to either view the entire piece as a whole, or to get involved in it and create something new together with the dancers. For that, they are recorded on camera so that their picture can be projected into the scene in various ways at the same time.
