Quantum Leaps XVI
Sat, March 16, 2013 – Sun, March 17, 2013, Concert
The six-monthly music festival Quantum Leaps held at the ZKM | Karlsruhe presents for the 16th time new works by the research scholars of the Internationale Ensemble Modern Akademie Frankfurt (IEMA) in the field of contemporary music.

On two evenings, recent compositions such as "Green and Maroon" by Dariusz Przybylski, or "behind her back" by Brigitta Muntendorf will each be shown for the first time. Furthermore, key works from the field of electronic music, such as by Anton Weberns "Konzert op. 24" and "Différences", by Luciano Berio, may be heard. The program will be rounded off with compositions by Nicolaus A. Huber, Heiner Goebbels and Franck Bedrossian.

The founding of the Internationale Ensemble Modern Akademie in summer 2003, in Frankfurt am Main, is the logical continuation of that for which the Ensemble Modern (EM) stands: the highest possible quality, the joy of playing, interdisciplinary art projects and international orientation. By way of the intensive encounter with artists and their works, over the last thirty years the EM has been able to acquire a deep and broadly diverse knowledge of music since the outset of the 20th century: a "memory of modern music"
