The ZKM | Institute for Music and Acoustics (IMA) celebrates the 50 anniversary of the Elektromusikstudion (EMS) with concerts, guest residence stays and a book publication. The concert »ARS ACUSTICA − 50 Years EMS« forms the prelude with new works by Swedish composers. As scholarship holders, Lars Åkerlund, Helene Hedsund, Lise-Lotte Norelius and the Duo Eva Sidén & Jens Hedman will be working at the Music Studios of the ZKM and will present the works they produced there. The Elektronmusikstudion (EMS) in Stockholm has been the center of Swedish electroacoustic music and sound art since 1964. The objective is to promote the further development of art and integrate electroacoustic music in other areas of art. Consequently, the EMS is both nationally as well internationally the most important representative of the Swedish scene, and supports the international exchange not least through scholarships for Swedish and international artists.
