December 21, 2014 is the shortest day – the Short Film Festival Day! On the occasion of this year’s European Media Art Festival we present a series of short films under the slogan »We, the Enemy«.
The European Media Arts Festival is considered one of the most important forums of international media art, and took place this year for the 27th time. With the slogan »We, the Enemy«, the festival is dedicated to the status quo regarding the disclosures by Edward Snowden, as well as further insights into NSA activities.
This year, the festival will be providing an historical overview with experimental films, installations, performances and new digital formats. An international jury will be presenting the EMAF-award for pioneering works of media art, the »arte creative Newcomer Award«, the »EMAF Media Art Award of German Film Criticism« as well as the »Dialogpreis« of the Foreign Office for the promotion of intercultural exchange. The festival is a site of experiment at which the unusual things and experiments emerge and are presented.
