On Sunday 11 December 2016, the ALPEH guitar quartet will round off an extremely successful year with a concert at the ZKM. In addition to extensive concert tours to Chile and the USA, the quartet has also appeared at major international festivals. It was a guest at, among others, the Berliner Festspiele, the Steirischer Herbst by the ORF and the GFA, one of the most important guitar festivals in the world. The musicians played pieces by composers from Argentina, Serbia, the Czech Republic, Austria, Spain and Germany, including 6 world premieres. Some of these pieces were produced in collaboration with the ZKM | Institute for Music and Acoustic. A CD production at the SWR in the history-charged Hans-Rosbaud-Studio in Baden Baden, which will be released in January 2017, will round off this eventful year.
The ALEPH guitar quartet is considered the most renowned guitar ensemble in contemporary music. It collaborates closely with the ZKM | Institute for Music and Acoustic and is financed by the Cultural Office of the city of Karlsruhe, the state of Baden-Württemberg and the Spanish Ministry of Culture.
