Opening: Schlosslichtspiele 2017

The next chapter in the success story that is the »Schlosslichtspiele« will be written in 2017. As part of the »Heimattage Baden-Württemberg« (annual celebration of local Baden-Württemberg traditions and culture), an exciting selection of artistic projects will be presented once again. This year, the focus is on new forms of architecture. On Thursday, August 3, 2017, they will be ceremoniously opened at the Palace Garden Karlsruhe!

From August 3 until September 10, 2017, Karlsruhe Castle, once again, is going to shine in the splendor of outstanding projection mappings. Curator of the Schlosslichtspiele this year is, again, Peter Weibel: »With the interweaving of digital (projection) and analogous art (buildings), the Schlosslichtspiele generate a new form of architecture, a new equation between virtual and real architecture. The shows create a visionary architecture that shows new spaces in the connection between light and stone and makes them feel atmospherically.«
