Artificial reality – a technique for journalists

- Location
- Lecture Hall
On October 14, 2017, the Deutsche Journalisten-Landesverband (DJV) [The German Journalists Regional Association] offers anyone interested the chance to find out about the use of virtual reality in journalistic work at ZKM.
Computer aided expansion of human perception of reality, can significantly enrich even reports on the events around the corner, in local areas. Jana Wuttke, editor at Deutschlandfunk Kultur, has used virtual reality to make the interrogation tactics of the Stasi tangible. At the same time, it became clear from this, what journalistic and ethical challenges are faced when telling stories in virtual reality.
With their VR projects, Stefan Domke and David Ohrndorf show how strong 360° techniques could expand classic journalistic themes with an experience level. With their project on Cologne Cathedral, they won the Grimme Online Award in 2017.
After the lectures with discussion, you can visit the current VR exhibition at the ZKM.
Gregor Landwehr from DJV Baden-Württemberg will be presenting the event.
