Open Government – a holistic approach for the revival of democracy and social innovation on November 8, 2018, at the ZKM | Karlsruhe!
The working group »Open Government Partnership Baden-Württemberg« invites participants and initiatives from Baden-Württemberg in the fields of Open Government, Open Data, Participation, Transparency, Open Governance, Modernisation of Administration, Sustainability to the ZKM | Karlsruhe on November 8, 2018. All those whose goals can be achieved with the help of Open Government are also invited to the Meetup. Together, we will develop proposals for the 2nd National Action Plan.
The »Open Government Partnership« is a global competence and evaluation network on Open Government from over 75 governments that Barack Obama's administration launched in 2011. The governments commit themselves to developing new National Work Plans (NAPs) every two years together with civil society, with measures for Open Government, the implementation of which will be reviewed and evaluated by an independent reporting system.
Germany has been participating in the Open Government Partnership since December 2016 and will begin developing its second National Action Plan in January 2019. To this end, states and municipalities are now also called upon to submit commitments for a »state and municipality chapter« of the NAP by June 2019.
The working group Open Government Partnership Baden-Württemberg met in October 2017 to support the state government on the topic of Open Government and is part of the Open Government Network Germany, which on the part of civil society as a whole supports the governments in Germany on this topic and cooperates with them co-creatively.
