In cooperation with the ZKM, Shahrokh Dini (Monk Bar, Karlsruhe) is holding a dance event of the extra class on December 1, 2018 at the Media Theater of the ZKM. 

Kevin Saunderson is regarded as one of the forefathers and pioneers of the international techno scene. Especially from »Detroit Techno«. Together with Juan Atkins and Derrick May he already produced electronic music with synthesizers and drum machines in the 80s and was already then in an exchange with the German cult band »Kraftwerk«. Later he founded the band »Inner City« and celebrated chart success worldwide. The songs »Big Fun« and »Good Life« from the debut album »Paradise« as well as a number of follow-up singles sold more than six million copies worldwide. 

He carries his nickname »The Elevator« because he transported »Detroit Techno« all over the world with highly energetic, inspiring and always rousing DJ sets and helped this genre to world fame. For 35 years he has been probably the most important ambassador for electronic dance music from the USA and has left his mark on music and pop culture. One example is the label series »History Elevate«, on which he worked with artists such as Carl Craig, Mathew Jonson, Simian Mobile Disco and Loco Dice, thus paving the way for them into the world of electronic dance music. 

The Karlsruhe DJs Shahrokh Dini and Thomas Brand, as well as Eros and Ninja from Munich, will provide an appropriate support program. We therefore cordially invite you to experience this very special dance evening in Karlsruhe and look forward to your visit.
