A unique memorial work of art in which family history meets contemporary history. A graphic memoir, alive, true and poetically told: Nora Krug reads from her book »Heimat« [home].

The award-winning author and illustrator Nora Krug, born in Karlsruhe, has lived in New York for over 17 years. She is married to an American Jew and feels more German than ever before.

Where does that come from? How much of the ancestral land do you take with you when you emigrate to faraway places?  And who is she anyway? She wonders what home means to her and undertakes a literary-graphic search for traces of her family's past. In her search for private stories, she tells contemporary history.
