Quintett Pilgrim

Equipped with a healthy dose of self-confidence and lots of adventurous spirit, the five musicians go on a musical journey. On this journey you will encounter things that are powerful, multi-layered, atmospheric and explosive, catchy and bulky.

The quintet Pilgrim around the Zurich tenor saxophonist Christoph Irniger plays music, that is difficult to categorize. One will hardly find accustomed song structures and classical division between soloists and accompanists here but instead overflowing sound landscapes, in which musical motifs are viewed from all sides, danced around and newly formed.

Since 2010, the formation, consisting of much desired representatives of the Swiss scene, has matured over the years into one of the most exciting ensembles of young European jazz.
