China Moses – Nightintales

Pure Energy – This is the feeling that the American jazz singer China Moses conveys on stage. With her last album »Nightingales« she shifted her artistic focus away from pure jazz towards soul pop and funky jazz soul.

Her performances blend jazz, soul, R&B, blues and pop in a sparkling way. Her music is carried by a warm and amazingly changeable alto voice and an exuberant temperament. Known as an interpreter of songs by her great role model Dinah Washington, the daughter of jazz icon Dee Dee Bridgewater, who now lives in Paris, is one of today's most important jazz entertainers herself. She cares less about the genre boundaries of jazz than about her personal taste and expression in gripping songs, which within a few minutes create stories, figures and places, images and moods in the listener's mind.
