The 18th edition of the Traumfabrik takes a look behind the scenes and presents films about films: Genres such as musical, documentary, film noir, thriller, biopic, nouvelle vague, drama or comedy.
Time and time again, filmmakers have thought about the medium itself in their works: about meanings, regularities and degrees of freedom of the cinematic codes, about social and economic production conditions, about the artistic autonomy of the authors and the constraints of the entertainment industry, about the artificiality of the media world and attempts to grasp the reality of the living world. In addition to the film series Traumfabrik #18 »FILM über FILM« (Dream Factory #18 »FILM about FILM«), the Film Exploratory will present and explain some significant film excerpts.
