We cordially invite all fans of the afterworks to the »ZKM | Isle of Coding« Spring Session on the island in front of the »Hallenbau«. With DJ music and visual performance. Come along to experience live coding and the first feelings of spring together!

Live coding is a form of programming in which the coding process takes place directly in front of the audience. Using algorithms, the artists create visual shapes and patterns and simultaneously merge technology and art. The live coded visuals by Yasha Jain & friends will be accompanied musically by Karlsruhe DJ heroes kitchen.tunes. Not only will the beats be cool and hot, but the MINT bar will also be at the start with mulled wine or cocktails, depending on what the weather has in store for us in March.

»Isle of Coding« is aimed at everyone, regardless of age or technology background. It's an opportunity to meet up with colleagues, friends and artists while discovering the world of programming in a new way. Come along and experience live coding up close!

    Markus Kleemann

Markus Kleemann (Ronny Klein) has been inspired by the American techno scene since 2009. Dennis Ferrer and The Martines Brothers helped Markus to find his own sound, which is characterized by a driving rhythm and dominant drums. Afro House is also an integral part of Markus' sets. Afro House transports the primal rhythm that all people carry within them and that connects us all.

Markus lives his musical enthusiasm every day anew. He is also inspired by soundtracks by Hans Zimmer or jazz. All these influences have an emotional impact on his musical work.

Markus is anchored in and around Karlsruhe. He is not only resident DJ at the Venus Bar, but also organizer of various events such as the Hubraum Festival and Zoom at ZKM | Karlsruhe.

    Chhunly

Chhunly was already influenced by electronic music at the end of the 90s. Inspired by labels such as Perlon and Roulé, his driving, groovy beats have made countless ceilings drop from Frankfurt to Baden in the south of Germany!

Since 2014, he has been a resident at the infamous Venus Bar with Listen or Dance and can be found regularly in various clubs and bars in the region, where he and his collective always escalate the evenings into sound-filled experiences.

    Daniel Kurosch aka Daniel Höpfner

In his second live coding performance, in which only visuals are programmed, Daniel K. Höpfner tries his hand at programming GLSL shaders - rgb, b/w, gradient, fract, 1/c, etc.

    Jasmin Meerhoff alias nervousdata

Texts and displays from centuries-old technology are sent through an algorithmically controlled, cobbled-together reprocessing plant that sometimes runs smoothly, but mostly jerks. Slicing, grinding and pressing: concrete poetry.
