Action Day of the Nationwide Initiative: My World. Your World. One World
Sat, November 21, 2009 10:30 am CET
Our world can only be comprehended as a whole – as indivisible “One World.” People are dependent and reliant upon one another. This is why an enhanced consciousness is required for a common and just future: that each individual carries responsibility for the future through his personal action.
So as to sharpen this consciousness, the Stiftung Entwicklungs-
Zusammenarbeit Baden-Württemberg (SEZ) (Foundation for Development Cooperation) called into life the initiative “My World. Your World. One World.” The aim of the initiative is to make visible and experienceable within a set period of time and in as many places of the state as possible the theme of “One World.” In a total of thirty cities throughout the state, communes and districts will be participating in this initiative in the months of September and October. Numerous active associations, parishes, adult education centers and administrations offer an entire range of actions throughout Baden-Württemberg – over 200 events will be taking place throughout the state! These prompt interest in developing countries, and interconnections at a global level and make it clear that, “yes” we do indeed live in One World!
This engagement is to be celebrated with a colorful Action Day – be there too on the 21 November at the ZKM! Three of the participating communes, who have put on an especially creative program, will be awarded a prize of € 4500. The award will be handed over by the Minister for Agriculture, Peter Hauk MdL, also the patron of the day. In addition, political development groups of the region will be presenting themselves and their work at the ZKM Foyer.
