In »Journey«, the players take on the role of a figure dressed in a robe who finds herself/himself in a desert.
The journey’s destination is the mountain top on the horizon. Gliding over the sand and hovering over ruins, they explore the secrets of a forgotten civilization. During the journey through the desert, the players find living pieces of fabric that allow them to fly for longer periods of time.
On their journey they may also meet and help other players – but without being able to communicate with them. They have the experience of helping a stranger about whom they know nothing except that he or she is human.
»Journey« has won numerous awards for its artistic game design. It was the first computer game to be nominated for a Grammy.
