The multimedia contents and the beginnings of the museum

Founded in 1989 by visionary citizens of the city of Karlsruhe, the ZKM | Center for Art and Media celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2019. To mark this occasion, the ZKM celebrates its birthday with a long anniversary weekend. The most important stages from 30 years of ZKM history will be presented in chronological order during the festive program. In the round table, Jeffrey Shaw, founding director of the Institute for Visual Media, and Hans-Peter Schwarz, founding director of the Media Museum, will give an exciting review of the legendary Multimedia contents, the beginnings of the Media Museum, and challenges in the then still young research on new media.
