Biography
Roberto Fassone (1986) lives and works in Asti, Italy. In his works the artist researches and questions those processes and strategies that constitute the basis of contemporary art. In his performances, for example, he attempts to hold a class on creativity without uttering the letter «R», or to present a book in 35 different ways – each with a different cover, different diction and speaker’s clothing. Most of his works may be described in a few words, though not the process of production. He has been working for several years on the development and optimization of sibi, the current work at AOYS.
Fassone studied at the IUAV in Venice, (Istituto Universitario di Architettura di Venezia), where he completed his MA in 2012. He worked as an assistant in the “Exhibition Display Workshop” at the IUAV, as well as at the University Politecnico di Milano on the course “User and Social Innovation”. Roberto Fassone has exhibited and performed, among others, at Carroll / Fletcher, London; ZHdK, Zurich; MARS Gallery, Melbourne; MAMbo, Bologna. He was shortlisted for the 17th Japan Media Arts Festival, and was recently part of the Live Work Performance Act Award in Fies (Dro) and of VISIO – European Programme on Artists’ Moving Images (4th edition) in Florence.
