Biography
Marie-Pierre Bonniol graduated in Arts and Philosophy of Art and has been active since 1995 as journalist, critic, teacher, editor, curator, artistic advisor, agent, programmer, producer, project manager and venue director. At the start of many projects (magazines, festivals, organizations), she is also the author of texts, essays and books-objects. »A library/Une bibliothèque« is her latest book and has been published in 2018 by »Derrière la salle de bains«, historic French publisher of Beat generation authors.
Since 2011, she has been running Collection Morel, an artistic, literary and philosophical dispositive in which she tries to connect her interests and research themes, whether it is imaginary, affects, fiction, devices, machineries and embodiment, with a particular focus on the notion of »bachelor machines« spelled by Marcel Duchamp. She's also behind Julie Tippex agency.
With exhibitions and proposals hosted by Lieu Unique in Nantes, Palace in St.Gallen, PointCulture in Brussels, MUDAM in Luxembourg, L’Espace d’en bas in Paris, Ausland in Berlin and the National Library of the Argentine Republic in Buenos Aires, she’s also directing since 2017 a series of videos on several of her research themes, from imaginary music to machineries, filming as well her family life to order to find its fictional lines.
